From your pitch you can see the magnificent medieval castle and town of Marvão, which has applied for World Heritage Status by UNESCO.

Camping Asseiceira is the closest campsite to Marvão. Using a simple map which we provide, you stroll along quiet lanes, paths, and onto a steeper cobbled Roman Road. On foot it is less than 5 kms away.  Alternatively, take the easy option and in just over 5 minutes by car you can be at the castle entrance. It is well worth the effort to climb the castle ramparts and absorb the breathtaking 360 degree views of both Portugal and Spain. Then leisurely explore the narrow cobbled streets of the town.

You will find both the museum and friendly tourist information office are well worth a visit.
